The Faculty of Computing and Informatics (FKI), Universiti Malaysia Sabah is organizing the first International Postgraduate Symposium on Computing and Informatics (IPoSCI 2026).

IPoSCI 2026 provides a platform for postgraduate students, researchers, and industry professionals to present their research findings, receive expert feedback, and establish academic collaborations.

The symposium includes research presentations, workshops, panel discussions, networking sessions, and publication opportunities.

    3 Minutes (CR3M)

    The Computing Research in 3 Minutes (CR3M) is a fast-paced, high-impact academic competition designed for postgraduate researchers. Inspired by international 3MT challenges, contestants are tasked with presenting a compelling spoken summary of their research, its core significance, and societal benefits to a non-specialist audience in just 180 seconds.

    ⏱️ 3-Minute Limit

    Strictly capped at 180 seconds. Going over the time limit leads to immediate disqualification.

    📊 Single Static Slide

    No transitions, animations, embedded media, or movement. Just one master slide or poster-style visual.

    🗣️ Spoken Word Only

    No additional audio/video, instruments, poems, raps, or physical props are permitted.

    🎓 Active Postgraduates

    Open to all Master's and PhD students in computing, informatics, and related domains.

    🏆 CR3M Recognition & Awards

    Competitors for both Master and PhD are evaluated on research significance and impact, communicative efficacy, content clarity, research innovation, and slide composition.

    Travel Grant Award
    for Postgraduate Students

    The International Postgraduate Symposium on Computing and Informatics (IPoSCI 2026) is pleased to offer a limited number of Travel Grant Awards to support outstanding postgraduate students in presenting their research and participating in IPoSCI 2026.

    This initiative aims to encourage research dissemination, international networking, and academic collaboration among postgraduate students in the fields of Computing, Informatics, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Multimedia Technology, Business Computing, and related disciplines.

    IPoSCI 2026 is committed to supporting the next generation of researchers by providing opportunities for postgraduate students to share their research, engage with international scholars, and experience meaningful academic and cultural exchanges. We warmly encourage eligible postgraduate students to apply and become part of the IPoSCI 2026 community.

    Eligibility Criteria

    Applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

    1. Be a registered Master's or PhD student at a recognized higher education institution in Malaysia (except UMS students).
    2. Have at least one paper accepted for presentation at IPoSCI 2026.
    3. Be the presenting author of the accepted paper.
    4. Completed IPSIS registration.
    5. Submit a complete travel grant application before the deadline.

Designed for postgraduate students, researchers, and academics, the programme offers an immersive blend of academic excellence, technological innovation, cultural exchange, and community engagement.

    Participants will take part in research and publication workshops, AI-assisted scholarly activities, networking sessions with international peers, community outreach programmes, and educational visits to Labuan’s cultural and heritage attractions.
