Program Context & Objectives
The Master of Computer Science (Computational Intelligence) by coursework is designed to prepare graduates with state-of-the-art knowledge and skills required to compete in the rapidly growing field of computer technology related to the adoption of Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0).
The primary objective of the program is to produce highly skilled human resources in Computer Science with specialization in Computational Intelligence—covering Artificial Intelligence, Evolutionary Computing, Robotics, Information Retrieval, and Machine Learning—to support IR 4.0 adoption at national and international levels.
Master Artificial Intelligence Techniques, Advanced Data Mining, Data Analysis & Visualization, and Evolutionary Computing.
Focus on Machine Learning, Robotics, Multi-Agent Systems, Information Retrieval, and real-world Capstone CS Projects.
Admission Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computing with a minimum CGPA of 2.75.
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computing with a CGPA between 2.50 – 2.74 may be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment by the faculty.
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computing with CGPA of 2.00 – 2.49 may be accepted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in relevant fields.
A Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in any field other than computing with a minimum CGPA of 3.00 may be accepted provided that the applicant has taken at least 1 prerequisite module in computing.
Senate & Accreditation Compliance: Degrees awarded by local/private higher education institutions must be accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). Applicants must also fulfill general English language requirements set by Universiti Malaysia Sabah.
